T O P I C R E V I E WWAWalsh For anyone interested in a chuckle and a belief in PT Barnum's old line, check out eBay 2107928395. For only $199 you can "buy now" a "special edition" reproduction of an Earthrise photo signed by approximately 15 astronauts, including four moonwalkers. Wow, what a deal.Sorry, the audacity of this one caught my eye. While I can see a collection niche for autopens, the reproduction of autographed photos as an item generally escapes me. I can imagine one or two that might be of interest at cost (Lindbergh in front of the Spirit of St. Louis would be one), but those I would get for the photo, not the autograph and cannot envision paying $199?WerbBeen wanting to post on this subject since it was first brought up..... There must be a market out there for reproductions like was described. I see quite a few people on ebay selling these types of things, and amazing as it may seem.... people are buying them. What is funny though, is that some of these items are signed by people that are still alive and kicking and sign either for free or for a fee at any time. That to me is a bit much. Why buy something that is a reproduction... when with a little time you can get the real thing, and it's more pleasing. I dunno......... maybe it's just me Take Care! From The Last Frontier..........Mike Hart SastrowardoyoPlaying devil's advocate, one may want a reproduction to hang up and not worry about fading or theft (although they could just photo kiosk their original)... as well, maybe they want the reproduction as the original is out of their reach, kinda like buying a reproduction Monet to hang on the wall above the fireplace....WerbYes that's true, but some of the prices that they go for are unbelieveable! As was also mentioned....... just make a copy because it's a heck of a lot cheaper than what some have gone for. BTW........... Armstrong over Monet anyday for my mantle.<G>Mike
